Why These Barrels Are Rare

Most Tennessee whiskey is released at 4–10 years. The Vault series represents barrels that NBC set aside and waited on — through two full decades of Kentucky and Tennessee summers and winters, interacting with American oak until they reached a depth of flavor that younger whiskey simply cannot replicate.

These barrels were distilled in Tennessee at 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley — a mashbill built for sweetness and structure — then aged in ISC cooperage barrels that developed the dark fruit, leather, and tannin complexity that only extreme age produces. NBC bottled them at cask strength: no proofing down, no chill filtration, nothing between you and the barrel.

These barrels have sold through. Hazmat releases (140°+) required special labeling for shipping due to proof level. Short barrel releases were extremely limited — some as few as 27 bottles total.
