Tasting Notes
At 124.42 proof and 9 years old, this is the most assertive barrel in the C-series. Wild Turkey's Lawrenceburg rickhouses produce a distinct combination of sweet corn, vanilla, and spice that's inseparable from their warehouse style. The extra year in Kentucky oak adds mahogany color and deeper tannin structure — expect dark cherry, charred oak, caramel, and a long peppery finish that comes with the higher proof.
The C-series nickname "Turkey" makes the provenance explicit. This barrel was selected by NBC's team specifically because it showcases what DSP-KY-67 does best at near-cask-strength — rich, expressive, and structured in a way that lighter proofs from the same distillery can't replicate.

About DSP-KY-67 — Wild Turkey Distillery
DSP-KY-67 is the Distilled Spirits Plant number for Wild Turkey's Lawrenceburg, Kentucky facility — operated by the Russell family since 1954. Master Distiller Jimmy Russell and his son Eddie have shaped the Wild Turkey house style over more than seven decades: a higher rye content mashbill, warehouse aging on a limestone bluff above the Kentucky River, and a philosophy of minimal intervention that lets the bourbon develop its own character.
NBC's C-series picks are individual barrels selected from DSP-KY-67's production by NBC's team — the same team that won Tennessee Blender of the Year and Best in Class at the world's largest spirits competition. These aren't licensed Wild Turkey products; they're NBC's independent selections from a distillery with a 70-year legacy.
NBC has selected 7 barrels from DSP-KY-67 — ranging from 115 to 124 proof, 8 to 9 years of age. Each barrel has its own character. See all C-Series barrels →
